An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Production Manager to join a fast-growing agency renowned for its high-quality live events and brand experiences. If you have a passion for technical production, A/V, and the world of live experiences, this could be the perfect fit for you!
Role Overview:
In this role, you’ll work closely with internal project managers, suppliers, and clients to manage all technical and production aspects of live events, including A/V, staging, health & safety, and venue logistics. You’ll provide key technical guidance, ensure seamless event execution, and be involved in everything from proposal development to post-event debriefs.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for managing budgets, schedules, and technical teams while ensuring high-quality delivery for a variety of live experiences including conferences, private parties, brand activations, and large-scale exhibitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
- Lead technical production on multiple live events, from brief to delivery.
- Collaborate with internal project leads to develop A/V solutions, ensuring smooth execution within timelines and budgets.
- Create and manage CAD plans, staging layouts, seating arrangements, and more.
- Oversee supplier negotiations, ensuring budget compliance and quality delivery.
- Prepare, manage, and track event budgets (including multi-currency budgets), ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Technical Leadership:
- Offer expertise in A/V requirements, lighting, sound, rigging, and set construction.
- Advise and liaise with clients and internal teams on technical feasibility and creative solutions.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, including creating RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements).
- Travel both nationally and internationally to manage event delivery.
Business Development & Client Relations:
- Support in the preparation of proposals, contributing to RFPs and costings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Help identify new business opportunities, leveraging industry connections and networks.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a client-facing technical role within an events agency or similar environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of A/V disciplines (sound, lighting, video, set construction, and rigging).
- Experience managing complex budgets across multiple currencies.
- Proficiency in CAD, with the ability to draft and edit technical plans.
- In-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to travel (UK & international) for site inspections and event delivery.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Ideally familiar with platforms like PROCIM, Google Docs, and Salesforce.
